The Northeastern Wisconsin Arts Council is now newARTS –
an organization with a revitalized mission. We’ve been operating since 1979 as a non-profit, membership-based organization dedicated to enriching the quality of life for the citizens of Northeastern Wisconsin through efforts to support, foster and promote the arts. In 2005, we restructured to enable us to serve the arts in our community.
newARTS support the arts through:
• Public art program
• Art Studio Tour - Now managed by newARTS and an artist committee since 2008
• Artstreet, Arti Gras and Bayfest, which are produced by our subsidiary, Arts Events, Inc.
We foster the arts through:
• Scholarships to high school and college students of the visual, performing and literary arts
And we promote the arts through:
• Green Bay Live!, a joint marketing consortium of local performing arts groups and an event calendar that provides a one-stop entertainment guide for the community
• newARTS Art News, a weekly email newsletter highlighting local art, culture and community news
• Advocacy of the Arts, by hosting community art forums and providing news and events from around the state from the Wisconsin Arts Board.
